Announcing Our Curated Penguin Resource Guide!

Welcome to Linkarati’s Penguin Resource Guide. We have worked to compile what we feel is the best, most informative content around the web regarding Google’s famous Penguin algorithm.

Over the course of a decade, Google found several ways to combat link spam, but the problem was still overwhelming. April 2012 marked a turning point for Google when they introduced the Penguin algorithm.

The point of the Penguin algorithm is to demote sites that use link spam tactics in order to game the search engine. Google is in the business of advertising, which means it’s in their best interest to provide the best product to their users, the people who see the ads. Users would stop using Google if they noticed junk sites ranking consistently ranking for top queries. This is why Google created the Penguin algorithm.
