Hello and welcome to another week of the Linkarati Roundup, where we feature the best SEO and link building articles of the week! For more in depth discussion of these posts (and others) head on over to our Link Builders G+ Community.
This week we have a healthy mix of diverse posts. There's content guides, Google news and theory, a guide to getting press, and as always interesting link building discussion. Let's jump on in.
We've all heard the power of storytelling in marketing. I particularly enjoyed this post because Alex uses a real life example of the same post with and without story telling, and the difference it made in engagement. The results are compelling, and Alex explains why storytelling is so powerful with real science. Good stuff.
Matthew Barby has been prolific in writing outstanding guides, how-to's, and great long reads all across the web. This time on Search Engine Land, Barby articulates how to find content gaps and get that content linked to by top-tier websites. I'd say more, but you're better off simply reading his post. It's very digestible and Barby does an outstanding job making his strategy easy to follow.
Once again we see another great guide this week focused on helping companies gain press coverage. This is a long read, with plenty of helpful insights, strategies, and advice. It's but a single chapter is an overarching guide that Allred is putting together, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more.
Eric Ward has been building links longer than pretty much anyone else in the SEO community. If link building is important to you, you should be reading what he writes, period. Even if you don't agree with everything he writes (although I almost always do), the sheer insight and experience he has is worth paying attention to, when he's inclined to share. This post is fully of tasty tidbits, much as the title promises, and is worth your time.
Kyra Kuik is the Content Coordinator at Distilled and writes some of the best content you'll read concerning content creation. Seriously, if there's any aspect of your job that deals with content creation, or even just dealing with content creators, Kuik's posts will be invaluable to you. She doesn't post a lot, but when she does it's worth sitting up and taking notice. This one is basically an eBook in and of itself. To be honest, I'm still poring through it, but it's easily made this list based on what I've already read. Bookmark it and set aside time - you'll need it.
This is the most important news we've heard out of Google in a while. Apparently the lead of G+, Vic Gundotra, is leaving Google. Anonymous sources at Google report that resources are quickly being pulled from the G+ team, and that G+ might very well be facing serious changes in the near future. Google is currently denying any plans to end G+. Also worth reading is Danny Sullivan's analysis over at Marketing Land.
